The Story of Huntsville Sit-Ins (1962)

This collection of news articles was compiled by Joan Cashin, a prominent civil rights activist and local leader in Huntsville who also served as a member of the Community Service Committee, along with her husband John L. Cashin Jr. She created this scrapbook to serve as a record of the coverage recieved by different Sit-In protests and similar events accross Huntsville throughout 1962. This resource was later reprinted for historical study by The Center for the Study of Southern Political Cultural, led by Dr. Waymon E. Burke at Calhoun Community College in Huntsville, AL.
